Les Hooper
Creative Guy
Composer, Arranger, Author, Musician
Les Hooper has been a part of the creative landscape for many years and his music speaks for itself: Movies, TV Shows, Commercials, CDs, Orchestral Commissions, Major music publishers (Sierra, Hal Leonard, C.L. Barnhouse, Belwin, Kendor, Alfred, Northern Colorado), and awards: Seven Grammy Nominations, an Emmy, Several Cleos, and many film festival awards. He had four Grammy nominations for his very first album plus a performance on the Grammy Show from New York, and later four piano pieces premiered at Carnegie Hall by acclaimed concert artist, Willis Delony. Then there were four new books published on Amazon (The Other Side, The Creative Business, Immaculate Perception & Exit Strategy).
Les has had a relationship with music since the age of four, when his dad would recall that Les could imitate many of the piano pieces that he himself played and that he showed early on that he truly had the music gene. After college at LSU majoring in Music Composition, his life took him to Chicago where he seriously pursued a music career. Chicago was a great learning city and Les wrote many national campaigns for commercials and recorded three albums, two big band and one small band called HOOPLA. His reputation began to spread and a film agent for composers called him with an offer for representation. This lead to the move to Los Angeles where everything broke loose: More commercials, More published big band pieces, Orchestral commissions, TV shows, Film, Concerts, etc. His time in Los Angeles raised the totals to 16 of his own CDs as well as many other artists’ projects. The diversity he has always wanted has finally landed.
